01Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Elena Tomás Bort (trading as Violet Nitrogen), based in Spain. For any question about your data, contact info@violetnitrogen.com.

02What data I collect

• Your email address — when you subscribe to the newsletter.
• Limited technical data — when you visit the site, standard information such as your IP address and browser type may be processed by my hosting provider and by the third-party content the site embeds (see Section 06).

I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 14 years of age.

03Why I use it, and on what legal basis

I use your email address for one purpose only: to send you the newsletter — occasional updates about new music, releases and related news. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by submitting the subscription form. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see Section 07).

04How long I keep it

I keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent, your data is removed from the active mailing list promptly afterwards.

05Who else can access it

I rely on trusted third-party providers to run the site and the newsletter. They act as data processors and are bound by agreements requiring them to protect your data:

• MailerLite — stores the mailing list and delivers the newsletter on my behalf (operated within the EU).
• Hostinger — hosts the website.

I do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone.

06Third-party content and cookies

The site loads some content from other services, which may set cookies or process technical data in your browser:

• YouTube (Google) — the music player embeds YouTube; playing a track may set YouTube/Google cookies.
• Google Fonts — the typefaces are loaded from Google’s servers.

These are used to provide features of the site, not to advertise to you. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings.

Note for review: if you keep the YouTube player and Google Fonts loading from Google’s servers, Spanish/EU rules may require a cookie-consent banner. Consider adding one, or self-hosting the fonts and loading the player only after a click.

07Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the data I hold about you;
• correct inaccurate data;
• have your data erased (“right to be forgotten”);
• restrict or object to its processing;
• receive your data in a portable format;
• withdraw your consent at any time.

To exercise any of these, email info@violetnitrogen.com. You can also unsubscribe instantly using the link at the bottom of every newsletter. If you believe your data has been handled improperly, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, AEPD — www.aepd.es).

08Data security

I take reasonable measures, and rely on the security of the providers above, to keep your data safe. No method of transmitting data over the internet is ever completely secure, however, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

09Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
